Disneyland

Thanks to my Uncle Mike's hook-ups, we made a family trip to Disneyland.  

MY thoughts on Disneyland

Disneyland is pretty cool.  I know Disney the Corporation is not quite as amazing, but the place itself is rad.  The atmosphere is so amazing, I still get a little nostalgic when I am there even though I have a season pass and visit often, pretty much all of the rides that were around when I was a little girl are exactly the same.

New Rain Coat

We went into this Disneyland trip knowing it was going to be cold and most  likely rainy and very busy, being a Saturday and Memorial Day Weekend.  So I got this Coat hoping that it would rain so I could give this baby a whirl.

It didn't Rain

But Still got some good use

If you  have ever been on the Rapids ride at California Adventure, you know that you could possibly get wet, but don't be fooled by the geyser at the end, if you see it huge and spouting, that means your not going to get soaked, if you see it small and bubbling - DANGER

One thing about my brother Cody is he is very, very afraid of man made heights.  We got him to go on this swinging ferris wheel, where your gondola swings, I have to admit it is quite terrifying, even with out having this fear.
He was a good sportfor a little while- until I tried to video him.Ruby really enjoyed it, she is a champ we even took her into "Honey I shrunk the Audience" and she was totally chill.  

A really fun Day, Not as busy I thought it would be, and no rain.  Good Family Fun.

Ruby's Xoe & Xanthe Day

This was from a week ago, so yes I am slacking, but better late than never.

First we went to the Library

I think the girls had the most fun searching for books on the online catalog and trying to find them.

Then on our way out they made there own airplane in the Lobby, They are so creative.

They had a lot of fun, I only wish there was a baby section to this place, seemed like anywhere Ruby walked she was in constant danger of breaking something of something falling on her

So for one and half hours Ruby and I walked the Promenade and did some window shopping.  A really fun Day 

Finn

Ruby has a best friend, his name is Finn.  They get along very well.  They actually know where the other's neighborhood is and especially where each other's houses' are.  They enjoy playing scare games with each other, following each other around and copying one another.  I think Finn is anxiously awaiting when Ruby can answer his questions, poor Finn will try to carry on a convo and Ruby's response is something along the lines of, "shabbra krin blar gus gus gus".

Love Hate relationship

I always have this inner battle while at Ikea.  I hate how far the drive is, especially when I have to return or exchange things.  But I love when I arrive.


I love  the designs and looks of the fabric, lamps, furniture... but hate how the quality is low and how my ikea chair broke three months after owning and operating it.

I love the inspiration I get while walking through the show room, I hate that I get lost and can never find my way out, without assistance.
I love the cheap and yummy hot dogs and kids meals, but hate... well there is nothing to hate about the food department except for maybe the enticing smells.
I hate when I can not find something and I know they have what I need downstairs and then they are all out of it downstairs and I have to go all the way back upstairs.
But I love how family friendly this place is... did you know they provide an hour of free babysitting in this amazing play area if your kid is tall enough, but not too tall, GENIUS.  

Weird Dog

Cody- my brosky, discovered that Gus really likes Watermelon rind.  Very weird.

He has a really big foot, that makes Ruby cry when he steps on her foot.

New Furniture-Yipee

For the last two years we had in our living room a three legged couch, the fourth leg we substituted with a wood block- that would on occasion be shoved to far back that, that side would collapse.  Well for the past two saturdays we have been couch hunting... we tried City Life, Easy Life, some random place in Anaheim, Ikea, and finally we went to Davenport.  It was right under our nose just a couple blocks from our house.  We wanted to buy the whole living room floor setting, cause it was so rad looking but instead we bought this guy and tables that go behind it.

It is so comfortable- and yes Ruby is in a shirt and in diapers, her pants were wet and I was nervous about her getting the couch all wet- see how long that lasts.

Such a good day, then right after Ben got to buy his laptop, part of the deal, no new laptops until we get a new couch, so everyone was happy

For Gee Gay

Gee Gay is my mom- She was dubbed this name by Taylor (Jessica's little Guy).  In his effort to say my mom's preferred "Grand Gail", he was only able to say "Gee Gay"  and it stuck.

That was a side note, She bought Ruby this dress and so just wanted her to see it in action

Garden Update

SO excited about this little guy that was at one point just soil... and now you see lots of green potential.

The corn in the forefront  is growing so tall and the squash I am worried that I don't have enough room.  I might cut it down to one to a hill.

Gus New Water Dish

Ran into Ralphs real quick to buy a gift card and came out with a Giraffe and Slide Blow up pool. It looked pretty impressive on the box. Got it home and after an hour and half of pumping air into it and filling it up I think Gus was more stoked to have a big drinking dish than Ruby was to have a huge bath tub.

Wardrobe change.  I made the mistake of getting too many bathing suits too early, I just wanted her to wear them all.

I wish I had this melt down on video, she went into hysterics until I realize why she was so pissed... she didn't want her hood on.  I can't wait till she can talk to me and let me know about these big issues.
Within the same minute she was on the ground whaling and then I took off her hood and she was just fine.  It is tough to be a baby.  Note the toy bubble lawn mower- also looked really impressive on the box, but not quite as impressive as a bubble producing toy.  You must have all four wheels on the ground in order for it to blow bubbles.  The inventor of this one must think grass is as flush and perfect as carpet.
