For Nicole

Lulu at about 2 months. Nicole wanted to see how she looked in the dress she gave her. So cute.

Say cheese

This girl loves the camera. Any time she sees it she loves to strike a pose and flash a smile.

It's that time of year

Lawn Mowing Time!
Our backyard Grass goes dormant during the winter, so just recently Ben has been able to bust his riding lawn mower out to cut the grass. The gift that keeps on giving- Thanks Dad.

WATCH WHERE YOUR GOING

Saturday night I went to a concert by the Orange County Mormon Choir and Orchestra, because my mom was playing in the Orchestra.

We were running late and in a big hurry to get inside the Concert Hall I ran right into the glass below. The weird thing is the glass pane that I ran into was right in front of that huge pillar and trash can. To the right was a handicap sign and to the left a door handle. I hit it so hard it threw me back a couple steps
I went back to the glass wall after the concert and found the grease from my head where I hit.
So of course there were other people on the other side watching me smack right into the glass like a dazed and confused bird. One of the ladies was really concerned and I told her, "Oh I am fine, that must have looked funny." She responded, "You are the second person I've seen do that." So I am not the only retard.

The morning after- oh course Sunday morning, The day I would actually be getting out of the house and seeing people.
With a little purple, Okay A LOT of purple on the other eye and some whites and creams on the bruised eye, I had two matching eyes.Today- Monday, gotten worse.
Wednesday Morning before make up- lots of yellow and a different shade of red. After Make up.

Happy Birthday to Gail

GAIL ALLISON HILL BORN MARCH 21

This weekend we celebrated my mom's birthday it was a lot of fun. She and my dad came over to babysit for me and ben and was surprised that instead we were doing a birthday party.

My mom is such a great mom and grandma. My mom is so patient and teaches us through experiences
1. When me and my bro and sis were younger we had a garage sale to raise money for our traveling summer. This is the summer we took the train and bus for the first time. The train to olivera st. and the bus to the mall.
2. We learned to be detailed in doing our chores by finding money or gifts under places we didn't usually dust or vacuum and in our laundry buckets.
3. We all gained an appreciation for classical music by attending her concerts and listening to her practice.
4. I learned how to color coordinate after a half a year of dressing myself as a fashion police candidate.
5. She is so smart and could probably win any debate she gets into. she once took down this cocky college punk on the topic of light and space and molecular blah blah blah.
6. She is always pursuing new talents and more knowledge. She learned how to play the guitar at the age of 30.

Ruby's Best Friend

GUS
And just like any friend she has she gets in fights and gets her feelings hurt. Today I had to put Gus in time out for pushing Ruby. I couldn't console her by explaining that it is okay for Gus to push her because he didn't mean to... That just upset her more, so i put Gus in her little play house until she said he could come out, which was a second later (Kids get over things so fast). Other fights they got into;
1. When gus wouldn't return the tennis ball
2. slobbering on her arm
3. Taking her toy food apple
4. pulling to hard on the rope when they were playing tug of war.
5. When his tail whacks her in the face
When they are on good terms you can usually see:
1. Ruby hitting Gus with a drum stick them petting him and telling him, "Sorry Gus, Sorry"
2. Ruby brushing Gus with his Brush
3. Ruby feeding him treats
4. Ruby pouring water on Gus
5. Gus and Ruby playing with the rope (tug of war)
6. Gus following Ruby around.

The more he entertains her outside the more worth I see in him.

Stupid Pink Eye

I am so sick of Pink Eye. After Getting it myself twice and now Ruby having it- I just want it to go away. We have never had lice and hope we never do- but I feel it is comparable to it because it is so contagious. We have to quarantine her and disinfect everything she touches. We have to give her eye drops four times a day in both eyes.
She woke up in the middle of the night for several nights crying and freaked out by her leaky eye.
Have you ever tried to give a two year old eye drops?! I hope you never have to. It takes me and Ben to hold her down, pry open her eye and get the drop in her eyes. At first she screamed and cried and we would give her candy after every treatment to sweeten the deal. Now she just says no thank you mom, and fights a little, but after every treatment she always says, "thank you momma, Thank you" I am not sure what she is thanking me for because she says it before we give her the candy.

Louise Nancy Schultz

The name given to Lulu at her blessing on March 8th. When Ben blessed her with this name I began to cry, not because I hated the name or was mad at Ben but just because the name seemed so right and I am finally at peace with her name. As many of you know I really struggled with her name up until the day we had to leave the hospital and even weeks after I was trying to convince Ben to change her name from Louise. But now I have a confirmation that this is and will be her name.

The Blessing was so great. It was an awesome weekend all together. Max (our nephew) was baptized and if you know the Schultzes everything is a party or there is always an after party. So following the baptism and blessing there was an after party with amazing food (Thank you to Harry and Nancy!). It was so fun to have Cody and Berkeley, Uncle Michael, Cousin Megan, and all the Schultzes in town. I love weekends like this when everyone is in town!

Thanks Ruth for the amazing Pictures!

Sleep Deprivation

A painless form of torture- Sleep Deprivation- Used to extract information from a prisoner, or used to drive a mom crazy.  Lulu is only a month old and I am fed up with the every two hour feedings at nights.  I can't function, I go to sleep thinking, "What's the point?" So in Utah the last two nights were very rough, the straw that broke the camel's back- IT'S TIME TO START BABY WISE.

What is Baby Wise?- a parenting book whose focus is to get your baby to sleep through the night, by first focusing  on the day time schedule.  I have stuck to the program for two days and last night a miracle happened.  Lulu slept 6 straight hours, from 8:30pm till 3:30am.  Unfortunately I didn't get to bed until 11pm.  What could I possibly be doing till 11pm when a much better option would have been to be in bed and get some sleep while I could?  Survivor.  I had two episodes of Survivor to watch and The Office.  Lots of tv to catch up on when you go out of town.

I am hoping this sleep success continues and was not a fluke!

***Boring Alert, the following is not that interesting, I will alert you when to begin reading again***

I am blogging to you from Beautiful Snowing Utah.  Ben and I wanted to do some snowboarding in Utah with his friends Brett & Ronni, they have a Time share in Jeremy R
anch.  In order to make this trip happen we jumped through a lot of hoops along with a lot of other people.  This is how our trip went.

MON NIGHT/TUES MORNING- Ben comes home from a weekend get away in Utah with his Dad and Brothers.
WED NIGHT- Ben drove me over to my parents house, where Lulu and I slept over and Ben and Ruby drove back home
THUR- Lulu and I drove to Utah with my parents and slept at my new Sister in Law's (Berkeley) Parents in Provo, Mark and Julie.  Ben and Ruby are at home working on the house
FRI- Go with my Dad to pick up Bro in Laws car from the SLC airport, my Dad drives on to Idaho, my mom and I drop Lulu off to Emilie's (long lost sister in law) Cody, Berkeley, my mom and I go Snowboarding. Berkeley's mom (Julie) picks Lulu up from Emilie.  Ben and Ruby drive to Las Vegas with Brett and Ronni. Lulu and I slept at Mark and Julie's
SAT- I ate at One World*** more on this later. Ben and Ruby drive on to Utah and meet up with us for Berkeley's birthday Dinner (Amazing German Food, her dad made)  Drove over to Bro in laws place to sleep for the night and it was already in use so we drove to the Sleep Inn.
SUN- Went to church, but it was at 1 and we forgot to feed Ruby, so the whole time She was asking for more bread, more bread.  Ben took her to get some food and put gas in the car and the car wouldn't start at the gas station, Cody came and rescued him.  We ended up all sleeping at Mark and Julie's.
MON- Ruby went back to CALI with my parents and Ben, Lulu and I met up with Sister in law Heather.  She randomly came down to Utah, she drove us to the Time share cabin in Jeremy Ranch and then took Sam's car back to him and picked him up at the airport.

I am now in the Cabin, just trying to wrap my brain around the crazy time I have had here so far, fun, but crazy.

TUES- My awesome Cousin Nicole watches Lulu while we do some snowboarding.
WED- Lulu and I fly back to Cali
SAT MORNING- Ben drives back in time for Nephew Max's Baptism and the next day is Lulu's Blessing.

*** BEGIN READING AGAIN***
ONE WORLD RESTAURANT
Found this place thanks to my Bro Cody.  My mom and I ate at this amazing place, if you are in SLC I encourage you to go.  It is Run by Hippies and all the food is organic and vegetarian.  They use veggi
es from their garden.  They cook a bunch of different foods and when it is all gone they make some other dishes.  You are given an envelope and after you are done eating you pay whatever you feel you should and drop the envelope in a chest with the others.  They have free soup and rice that is complementary.  You can also pay by doing dishes, sweeping/mopping, working in the garden, or serving food.  The food is really good too.
The address is 41 South 300 East in SLC
