Valentines Day

Every year Ben and I rotate who is in charge of Anniversary and Valentines Day.  Ben always seems to out do me.  Last year he was in charge of Valentines day and I was in charge of our Anniversary.  Well for Valentines day we went to New York- Thank you Ben!  So the pressure was on to plan something really boo yah for our Anniversary -

Did I deliver???... not exactly.  I paid to much for Catalina Flyer Tickets (a Ferry that takes people from Huntington Beach or Long Beach out to Catalina Island)  and I booked a Hotel close to the Port which also happened to be very close to the airport :(.

We were kept awake by a rowdy swearing guest  till 3:00am and the Catalina Flyer leaves at 7am, so we would need to leave by 6am to arrive half hour early.

We missed our boat, and ended up hanging out at the hotel till we had to check out,

It didn't all suck.  We were able to play tennis at the hotel and swim in the pool before we checked out.

This year I did not have anything planned except for a movie in the evening, thanks to my AWESOME sis in law Heather volunteering to watch Ruby for us.  Got a call from my parents that they wanted to come out and have lunch, so I packed some champagne glasses and some bubbly- Grape martinellis.  We went and got KFC and had a picnic in the park.

We saw Confessions of a Shopaholic, really cute- I recommend it.  Turned out to be a really fun Valentines Day!  Go last minute planning.
LuLu's first day at church- really wore her out, she did awesome.

Shut in till last night

I have been a hermit lately.  My days and nights seem to just transform into the other without much notice.  At home I am often found nursing, entertaining Ruby, Bouncing Louise, making meals- first time in my life I have prepared three actual meals, trying to accomplish at least one important chore/task per a day (today's task was add Louise to the insurance- check), along with finishing up yesterday's chore of the laundry.  Oh my exciting life.  I did get out of the house last night with Ruby and Louise, we met up with Sister in laws, mother in law, and :( ex sister in law for some yummy rain forest cafe dessert.  I am eating all the sweets and junk before I start my cut out the crap exercise program in four more weeks.  Louise can often be found sleeping.
Ben can usually be found working on the garage- turning it into his office
Ruby - watching Monsters Inc. (Her new favorite movie) or following me around.
After Lou Lou's First Bath
After Lou Lou's Second Bath kicking it next to big Sister who also just got out of the Bath.

Louise Very different from Ruby as a baby
1. Ruby was not a good nurser, but hardly ever cried
2. Lou is a great nurser and cries an average amount
3. Ruby not a very good pooper- very constipated
4. Lou poops so much it is rare to find her diaper without poop.  She has pooped many times while I am changing her diaper, such as this morning at 6:30am, when her poo sprayed all over me and down my shirt- totally crazy and sick!
5. Ruby did not like Baths and would cry while being bathed, Lou likes baths and cries when I take her out.
6. JUST IN** Louise really struggles at night- she will not settle down, she is so tired and tonight we just tried a pacifier, which I did not want to do (did not want her to rely on it) and like magic, she fell right to sleep.  Ruby hated Pacifiers, she would spit them right out.
I am just blown away at all the difference I can already see in these two sisters at two and a half week.
PS we plan to bless Louise March 8th tentatively for those that want to be there.  Tentatively because need to clear it with the Bishop.

Baby Update

First off I want to thank everyone for your thoughts and messages, it is so cool to see messages from people I hadn't heard from in awhile.  And a huge Thanks to my SIL Ruth!  I would be a mess if it weren't for her jump to action help.  Not only did she take Ruby for two days and nights, but she also updated my blog and took pictures of us in the hospital- I recommend everyone find yourself a Ruthy for times like these.

Second off the delivery was amazing, I could have not have asked for a better experience- I had my friend Naomi as my nurse coincidently, we got to the hospital around 6 or 6:30 and her shift started at 7.  She was also our nurse when I had Ruby.  She hooked us up with the epidural just in time, because the anesthesiologist had to go into a c-section shortly, we were able to get the best Dr. who usually doesn't deliver babies anymore, but was covering for a Dr who went out of town, and we got our favorite Nurse from my OB/GYN office the day we left the hospital.  Apparently she works part time at the hospital.

Recovery has been a lot easier that with Ruby, I don't want to go into it on my blog, but I needed a lot less stitches with Louise than with Ruby.

Nursing is going 100X better than with Ruby.  I am not pumping and Louise is such a good latcher.  I have seen how hard it can be to not produce enough and have a bad nursing baby, and I am so thankful for this time around being easier.

Ruby has been kept Busy thanks to friends and family taking her for half the day everyday.  This morning was the first time she wanted to touch Louise, she has been a little sketched out by her.  She asks about her and is concerned but didn't want to get near her, but this morning she caressed Lou Lou's hair on her own.  I was so thrilled.

I am a yo yo of emotions, thanks to my crazy hormones, but hope things will even out soon.
